  • What surprising facts/insights/new ideas about early childhood did you gain from exploring this international early childhood website?
It was great to see that everyone around the world is advocating for children and their rights and that there are a lot of organizations that are working towards providing a healthy and safe environment for every child regardless of their race, socioeconomic status, and/or ability.
I also enjoyed exploring this website and the webinars and modules that are provided for educators (no cost or for a minimal fee).

    1. Neisha,
Yes STEM is becoming a big thing everywhere. Many schools here are gearing towards it and some organizations are also focusing on that. I also think that early childhood education in Australia is a lot like it here. Thank you for your comment.

    1. Hi Loren,
Yes I found that safe and nurturing environments is a big focus in Australia. They have a whole section on that topic for parents that discuss how to create a safe and nurturing environment in their home.

  4. Reyna, Great information provided, thank you. I too enjoyed seeing that they had a plan and goals in place for advocacy. There goals were similar to the goals that the U.S. has. They want to spend a little more each year on early childhood care and education, they want to provide quality and trained educators, and provide inclusion for all. It makes me happy to know that many around the world have these same objectives and can relate to similar issues and trends.

  5. Hi Reyna,
It is clear that STEM education has come to the forefront of many pedagogies and teaching organizations; I am not surprised to learn that STEM education is coming to fruition in Australia. I am also not surprised to learn that Australia has a focus on parent education; studies all over the world indicate that parenting can be enhanced through education about the early years. I do not think that the early childhood education climate in Australia differs a whole lot from what is found here in the United States.

    1. Thank you Vivian. Yes, there's so much information and I enjoy the fact that even though many of us explore the same topics, we find different things and we share our experience and how we interpret things in our own way. Best part is that we learn from each other.
