  1. Reyna,
The positions you posted are focused on two very challenging topics. On much smaller scales I have worked with families as a caseworker and found it to be very trying and takes a strong person with specific personalities. Your second position of policy and advocacy coordinator I feel ties in very well with the focus of our course work and our preparation to become agents of social change.

    1. Hi Barry,
I was also a home based educator that visited the families once a week and it is very trying, but also very rewarding. I had many challenges, but it also made me feel good that I was able to empower not only the children, but also the entire family. It does take a strong person with specific personalities. Working with the parents/families is my passion. Thank you for your feedback.

  2. Hi Reyna,
It is amazing that although we are literally continents apart we have the same concerns and issues when it comes to our children. We all have concerns for children that are in situations that put children at risk. Being a caseworker will be an excellent way to be able to give children and families resources that they would otherwise not know about. I like the world vision organization that you chose that will help children in poverty to rise out of that situation and expose them to other opportunities. This is what teaching is all about.

    1. Thank you. I like the work that World Vision does for young children and their families. Due to poverty many children miss out on great learning opportunities and the effects spill over into their adult lives and the cycle is passed down from generation to generation. We need to be more involved and advocate as much as we can since we know first hand what and how children are affected. Thank you for your feedback.

      Reyna.
